About the experience

Explore our rich LGBTQ+ history in a walking tour that charts how well (and little) we've progressed as an inclusive nation. This walking tour takes you through an immersive journey in central Singapore, from the small lanes where closeted exchanges occur to large open spaces where pride is proudly celebrated. Conducted by a licensed tour guide, this experience will weave in factual and personal stories from various individuals. This tour is open to all - you do not need to identify as LGBTQ to attend. ABOUT YOUR GUIDE Bringing guests around town is a beautiful two-way experience. Not only does Isaac get to share the tales and love of the city where he grew up, but he also learns your stories and personalities and makes new friends. This love spurred him into becoming a tour guide, and what better way to drive a passion than to talk about the topics closest to his heart. He can't promise you clear weather during the tours, but he can promise a (really) good time, excellent local gay trivia and a delightful drink to start the night. WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE • A tour that takes you through the different periods in the context of local gay history. • Stories that witness the oppression but also the celebration of LGBTQ rights. • A curated route that takes you to actual locations (past and present) with visual stimuli to aid these stories. • Merchandise designed specially for the tour. • An exclusive cocktail, the Pink Sling, is specially made and only available for this tour (non-alcoholic alternatives are available). REQUIREMENTS • This tour is conducted in English. • It is advisable to wear comfortable and relaxed clothing, with comfortable walking shoes. • In light wet weather, the tour will continue, and it is recommended to carry an umbrella. • In heavy rain, all guests will be contacted prior for contingency plans. • Although most of the tour will occur on pavements and alleys, some portions will require road crossings and slight elevations, including stairs. It is recommended that participants are adept for such circumstances. • The tour crosses the dinner duration. While the final venue will have food available and the tour will have some snacks, if you think you will get peckish, it will be advisable to have a meal prior.
